The town is about 40 kilometers out of the town to the
northwest. It was a nice drive, the skies threatened but didn’t deliver much
rain. Oh sure, there were a few sprinkles, but nothing serious.
What a lovely way to spend an afternoon! And what a COOL
Pub!
We arrived at the pub in time to have a beer or two before
lunch and them moved inside to have an amazing meal. This place is so cool! It
is a 19th century pub that has all the character that you would
expect. It has these lovely old floors and brick walls.
The bar, in the center of the main room serves up a really
good selection of beers and ales and the service is up to the standards of the
beers and the food. And Oh! The FOOD!
I had a lunch of Tortellini Carbonara served atop a Chicken
Schnitzel. It was amazing! Really a lovely meal – even if I have to do an extra
workout each day to make up for it. We ate at a table overlooked by watchful
eye of the caged blue-tongued skink.
The conversation and the food were great; we all had a great time. It looked like even the skink wanted to try one of my tortellini. Who could blame him? They were worth trying!

After lunch, we returned to the outdoor patio to resume our chat over more beer and wine. It was well into the afternoon before anyone looked at their watches again. We ordered the profiteroles for dessert after a while and wow! They were good!
But all good things end eventually and some time after sunset
we decided it was time to head back into town. It was a lovely time, a lovely
day, and a great way to spend one of the few last days I have in Australia!
Wherever you are today, I hope that your weekend is passing
as pleasantly!
