1.65”

More than an inch-and-a-half of rain fell into my rain gauge this weekend. It is NICE to have the water! This is more rain than we had for the entire month of June. The atmosphere is absolutely dripping out of the sky this morning. It is nice and cool, and dark.

The clouds are pouring through the gap in the hogback. The look of the sky to the west is foreboding. But that is cool! It certainly beats hot and dry. This kind of weather will certainly help-out with fighting the fires.

It is not all good news, of course. My county is under flash-flood warnings, and the burn areas are definitely going to erode this weekend. This is bad for the water supply as well, since we have a system of reservoirs here – with all the dirt and ash washing into them, they will become clogged. This is not good, but it is definitely better than the fires!

So, all-in-all, it s a good weekend. At least it is not in the hundreds!

Wherever you are today I hope that you are having a great weekend!
