The leisurely pace continues as we press on through northern Colorado. One of the best decisions for a weekend trip is choosing the right route, and this morning it’s paying off. Instead of the often-congested mountain corridors, we're enjoying wide-open roads with hardly any traffic.

It makes the drive that much more pleasant, allowing for time to actually see the scenery. The morning even offered up a bit of unexpected beauty—a lone hot air balloon drifting serenely against the clouds, a perfect symbol for a calm and easy start to the day.
