The rural landscapes of central Minnesota were on full display.
After a beautiful sunrise to start the day, we made our way to Inspiration Peak.
The region is dotted with countless serene lakes like this one.
| The daytime moon was a constant companion on our drive. |
According to the historical marker, Nobel Prize-winning author Sinclair Lewis was so taken with the view that he chided Minnesotans for not knowing their own "haunts of beauty." Standing at the top, looking out over the rolling hills and scattered lakes, I can see why he was so moved. It’s a quiet, beautiful part of the state.

Sinclair Lewis certainly found this place worthy of its name.

Sunlight filtering through the beautiful fall canopy.

Even from the woods, the moon was watching over us.

From there, we journeyed on to Parkers Prairie, where the familiar sight of the family homestead came into view. It was a morning filled with the crisp autumn air, scenic drives, and a welcome dose of nostalgia.
A perfect and peaceful end to a morning of exploration.

Wherever you are today, may you find a view that inspires you.
