After a few hours on the winding roads of the Black Hills, you start looking for a good place to pull over and just breathe. Horse Thief Lake is one of those perfect spots.

Its name hints at a more lawless past, a time when outlaws used the surrounding canyons to hide stolen horses. Today, however, it's the picture of tranquility. It's a great place to get out, stretch your legs, and enjoy the quiet beauty of the hills before getting back on the road.
Wherever you are today, I hope you find a quiet spot to rest.
