When I get off this plane, I am going to French Kiss the ground. I am so completely over this trip.

| Arrived. Never has a single word brought so much relief. The ordeal is finally over. |
Just when I thought I was in the clear, the journey threw a few last obstacles in my way. At the gate in Munich, I was randomly selected for additional screening, which meant I had to completely unpack and then repack my entire carry-on. Then, for the final injury to insult, my back spasmed as I was putting that same bag in the overhead bin. The bag fell, snagging my watch on the way down, and I didn't even realize what had happened until a flight attendant asked if I needed a medic. Looking down, I saw I was bleeding quite severely.
My only response was, "No! Please! Let's just take off. Could I just get a wet paper towel or two?"
After we were in the air, the kind flight attendant came to check on me. I shared the Readers' Digest version story of this fustercluck of a trip, where not one single flight had gone as planned. I think he felt sorry for me, because he brought me an extra gin with my dinner. It was a small kindness that was deeply appreciated. Looking at the app now, I can see we're finally over Colorado. This has been a long, painful trip, and I am so ready for it to be over.
Wherever you are today, may your travels be blessedly boring, and may you always arrive home safe and sound.
