A Last-Minute Change of Plans

 And so, the next big trip begins.

It always helps to visualize the journey.
The plan is a long one: a nearly 20,000 km
round trip to Romania and back.

This time, I'm heading to Craiova, Romania, for a week of Sprint Planning meetings with my team. As is often the case with international travel, the adventure started before I even left the house.

When I have a long journey ahead, I try to get on the destination's time zone before I leave. Craiova is nine hours ahead of Denver, so my sleep schedule was already shifted. This turned out to be incredibly fortunate. At 2:00 AM local time, a message pinged on my phone: my connecting flight from Munich to Bucharest had been canceled. Because I was already wide awake, I was able to jump online immediately and re-book a new connection through Frankfurt, salvaging the itinerary.

With the crisis averted, it was time to head to the airport and begin the long journey east.

Wherever you are today, I hope your path is clear, even if you have to redraw the map a little along the way.
