Busy Day (Part II)

Dad’s procedure went well! We are all relieved.

The surgeon who performed the procedure was surprised that dad was having a stint implanted in the esophagus, he didn’t see sufficiently significant swelling of the cancer to warrant it, but said that the doctor who had ordered it must know what he is doing.

After getting our discharge notes, we left the hospital around noon today, and Dad being hungry, wanted lunch. He ate a hearty bowl of soup and then we all came back to the house. After a nap and a dinner of some extremely good chicken and dumplings, we proceeded to allow Dad to trounce us all in cards.

It was a fun, but busy day. I still have presents to wrap and the rest of the family arrives in a couple days. I think I need a toddy before bedtime, though, so I am off to mix one!

Wherever you are today, I wish you happy and safe travels as well as a wonderful holiday of your choice!
