The Calm Before the Shadow

After two long days of driving and a full day of anticipation, eclipse day has finally arrived.

Eclipse morning. The sunrise looked promising for a clear day.

The first order of business was an early-morning weather check. Seeing a beautiful, clear sunrise was a huge relief and set an optimistic tone for the main event later in the day.

Had to get the official shirts to remember the day.

Before settling in for breakfast and the long wait, we took a walk and found a vendor already set up, so of course, we had to get the official commemorative t-shirts to mark the occasion.
