Indian Canyons

At the end of Palm Canyon drive in Palm Springs is the gate to Indian Canyons; a park on the Agua Caliente Indian reservation. It is another lovely example of what the faulting of the water table can do.

Like the Thousand Palms Oasis, the Oases here are cause by the faulting that underlies the canyons. Unlike Thousand Palms, this one has waterfalls and a lot of other lovely things to see – there are caves, rock formations, and creeks to cool your feet in.

We came here and spent times in the heat of the day under the shade of the palms and had a lovely time. It was far less travel than yesterday’s road trip, but every bit as pleasant. Some of the cool things here were the road that goes right through a split boulder, and the gift shop that has some very nice things salted in among the tchotchkes.

But as we are traveling home tomorrow, we decided to have our shorter road trip today.

Wherever you are today I hope that your adventures have been as short and sweet!
