There's always a touch of melancholy when a lovely visit with family comes to an end, but it's mixed with the quiet comfort of heading home. After a wonderful trip to Minnesota, it was time for an early morning flight back to Denver.

Waiting for a plane as the sun rises is a uniquely peaceful travel experience; you get to watch the airport slowly come to life as the sky puts on a spectacular show.

A few hours later, the familiar, hazy skyline of Denver appeared on the horizon—always a welcome sight. It was a smooth and beautiful journey home.
