A Golden Consolation Prize in Denver

The plan for the evening was a simple one: head downtown to capture the annual holiday glow of the City and County Building. Unfortunately, the display was dark, leaving the night feeling a bit hollow.

Rather than calling it a wash, a quick pivot toward Broadway revealed a much better subject. The Colorado State Capitol was standing tall, bathed in a regal purple light that made the golden dome shine brilliantly against the November night. It just goes to show that even when the main event is dark, there is usually something else worth seeing if you’re willing to look around the corner.

Wherever your travels may lead, I hope you always find a brilliant Plan B.
