What A Difference A Week Makes

I have one quick question for all of my friends, family, and associates on the right: where is YOUR outrage!?

We still do not know all the facts; I will be the first to admit that. But already I am ready to make an iron-clad prediction about the terrorist attack on a women’s health clinic in Colorado Springs. Oh, and before the objections come in, please remember: I am using the word in its strictest meaning:

terrorism

[ter-uh-riz-uh m]
noun
1. the use of violence and threats to intimidate or coerce, especially for political purposes.

2. the state of fear and submission produced by terrorism or terrorization.

3. a terroristic method of governing or of resisting a government.

Origin  1785-1795
1785-95; terror (violence or threats of violence used for intimidation or coercion) + -ism (used as a productive suffix in the formation of nouns denoting action or practice, state or condition, principles, doctrines, a usage or characteristic, devotion or adherence, etc. ( criticism; barbarism; Darwinism; despotism; plagiarism; realism; witticism; intellectualism))

I predict that of all the hateful vile posts that filled facebook last week decrying the fact that the left refuses to call the attacks on Paris “Islamic” terrorism, few to none of them will be calling the attacks on Planned Parenthood what it is! By the same standard, they should be calling this “Christian” terrorism.

The reports of the attacks locally are quoting the people from the clinic as saying that the man stated that he was targeting the clinic because his Christian beliefs abhorred all abortions. To echo your posts of last week: Where is the outrage from the Christian moderates who would never attach a health clinic because of their personal beliefs!?

Should we tar all Christians because this one kook (and plenty like him over time) perpetrated a decidedly unchristian act the way a few kooks in Paris (and other places previously) have reinforced your Islamophobia!?

I will buy that your hateful posts of the past week were well meaning when I start seeing you guys calling the attacks on Planned Parenthood what – by your own logic – they should be called. Start calling these kooks “Christian” terrorists and I will accept that your rants of the past seven days may not have been as hate-filled as they appeared.

Wherever you are today, I hope that you will remember the old adage: What is good for the goose is good for the gander! Equating the vile actions of a few zealots with the beliefs of millions is not good, but if you’re going to apply it to someone else’ religion – be aware that it is only fair to have the same standard applied to yours!

Amen brother, amen. I am outraged by the double standard being applied to this tragic attack on Planned Parenthood's women's health center.
