The gathering was a great success! At least thirty relatives, cousins, uncles, aunts, and siblings were in attendance. There was lots of food and fun.
My siblings and I started getting the tables out and the cards ready and when the first guest arrived at 11:30 we were ready to party! The day was absolutely gorgeous; the weather could not have cooperated more amenably! We had worried about that, it has rained here for weeks.
But yesterday dawned clear and bright and the day was just perfect for walking through the woods, swapping stories, and checking out the gardens.
Today is a day of relaxation. My brother and his daughter are headed back to Huntsville today; my sister and I each have flights tomorrow. We're catching a ride down to the cities with our baby brother and his family.
Dad and Flo, although they say they love the company as sure to breathe a sigh of relief tomorrow when they get their house back to themselves. I will be happy to make it back home and get my little one back from Doggie Prison... uh... that is to say, the kennel!
