Or has it just dropped off for a quick nap?
A friend of mine recently gave me this idea for a card... Actually, it was something that I was thinking of doing anyway.
I heard a story on one of the news programs I follow that talked about giving cards and presents for divorce. Apparently, one store has even started a divorce registry! (What? You only got one crockpot at your wedding and can't believe she kept it when you split? Register for one at the Divorce Registry of your local department store.)
Once again, is there no depth to which American Consumerism will not sink? At least I never actually sell my cards. (Unless you're interested in buying one... in which case, drop me an email. I would be happy to talk about selling my work!)
Wherever you are today, I hope that you're having a lovely Valentines Day!

You sound very Humphrey Bogart like with that "you'll do 'till something better comes along" but after following your blog for a while I can tell that you aren't that cold and heartless. I know you would never leave Saga for another dog. That's just not your style. What did you guys end up doing for Valentines Day?

Dear Anonymous Reader:
Thanks for reading and commenting on my blog!
Bogart?
Interesting, I was actually going for Thomas “Fats” Waller.
No! Wait, that’s Until the Real Thing Comes Along. Sorry. I guess you’re right. That did sound more like Bogart.
I did do something special for Valentines Day with Saga as a matter of fact. We went out for a walk in the snow (an activity she HATED so we cut it short) and then spend a while patting her frozen little feet dry with a towel. After which, we got out the brush and brushed her coat for a nice long while.
After such an exhausting morning, she had a little lie in while Daddy went off to celebrate the Chinese New Year with dinner with some friends. (The food was great, the service was appalling. Worse than usual… it’s a good thing the food is great at our favorite place, we would not keep coming back otherwise.)
Last evening Saga got some diced carrots (one of her favorite treats) and sliced hot dog (her other favorite) in her puzzle ball. She happily chased it around the living room for almost an hour before the last of the treats fell out.
She was zonked when we finally turned-in last night. I heard her snoring before I had put the book I am reading down and turned-out the lights. All-in-all, it was a lovely weekend.
I hope that your Valentines Day weekend was as pleasant. Thanks again for your comments!
Don
